#1 CUNY College of Staten Island


CUNY College of Staten Island offers associates, bachelors, masters and doctoral degrees. Military veterans can apply for college and check the available veteran career resources. To assist students who have served in the US Armed Forces and their families, the office of Veterans Support Services (VSS) was created. Its main goal is to ensure a seamless transition from military to the academic life. This is done by providing 'veteran-friendly' services in collaboration with veteran organizations. #2 Buffalo State College


Buffalo State College currently offers more that 160 degrees in different formats - day, evening and weekend. One of the main benefits of the College - one of lowest tuition rates in NY area. The College provides veteran and military services, veteran orientation and scholarships. The scholarship programs are based on academic merit, financial need, field of study, etc. In the College, there’s a "veterans one-stop center" supervised by a veteran coordinator. The College also has a student Armed Forces Organization (AFO) recognized by Student Veterans of America (SVA).

#3 Eastern Michigan University


Eastern Michigan University offers many benefits to veterans, which includes special application fees and student loan programs for military service and experience. The EMU Military and Veteran Services Resource Center was established to help military and veteran students and their families get high-quality education. Currently, EMU is offering the Military Science and Leadership Minor program for undergraduate students. EMU has one of the largest student veteran populations in Michigan.

#4 Vincennes University


Vincennes University has a special Military Education Program that has helped over 75,000 active military personnel, reservists, and guard members get proper education. Full service programming and educational benefits are available at 12 military installations nationwide. Also, Vincennes University provides instructional services at 30 military site locations. Among other opportunities for veterans, VU provides instructor led course work abroad. And most importantly, Vincennes University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.  

#5 University of West Florida


The University of West Florida is one of the best schools for military members, veterans and families. It has the Military and Veterans Resource Center (MVRC) being a 'one-stop' shop to assist students with veteran educational benefits and degree program planning. MVRC also provides extra services like tutoring & mentoring and other resources on/off campus centered around the needs of military and veteran students pursuing their educational goals. Apart from educational services, MVRC provides students with a computer center, printers, and laptops for check out.
