#BrownSkinGirlChallenge Is All About Women Empowerment
Even if you aren't much of a fan, you probably heard that Beyonce released a complementary album to the motion picture The Lion King: The Gift. The songstress dubbed her latest release “a love letter to Africa.” One of the tracks on the album is called “Brown Skin Girl,” and it features vocals from Blue Ivy, Beyonce’s 7-year-old daughter. The song is all about empowerment, as it celebrates famous brown-skinned women like Lupita Nyong’o, Naomi Campbell, and Kelly Rowland. The song has given an urge to thousands of girls of colour to celebrate their beauty.
