One student killed, eight others injured in a school shooting in Denver, Colorado, not far from Columbine High School on Tuesday. As told by CNN News, two suspects were found after the shooting in the STEM School Highlands Ranch (K-12 curriculum). The school is attended by nearly 1,850 students according to its website.
Who Are The Suspects?
The sheriff has identified one of the suspects as Devon Erickson, 18. The Douglas Colorado Sheriff's office said no photos will be released for now "to maintain the integrity of the investigation." The suspects are believed to be the students of this school.
What Do We Know So Far?
The high school shooting started at about 2 PM. As told by CNN, the suspects "walked into the school, and "got deep inside the school," engaging students in two separate classrooms." A spokeswoman for the sheriff's office reported one student, 18, was killed in the school.
The sheriff's office reports of other eight students who were taken to local hospitals. The sheriff said that "several of the students who were shot are in critical condition." The youngest victim is 15 years old.
The Douglas County School District tweeted that after the shooting, the STEM School was placed on lockdown. All other Highlands Ranch schools were on a lockout which was later lifted for Highlands Ranch schools.
