The internet is buzzing about the Lion King live-action movie, a remake of Disney's 1994 animated film, and we have to say it's worth a thousand words! The film currently stands at 57% on Rotten Tomatoes and at 55% at Metacritic, describing the reviews as "mixed or average." The Typical Student team learned if it's worth to see The Lion King over the weekend.

And, here's what movie critics say about the movie:

"The film is a visual masterpiece, and some characters, including Timon (Billy Eichner), Pumbaa (Seth Rogen), Zazu (John Oliver), and Nala (Beyoncé), were strong," said Adam B. Vary, BuzzFeed News’ a senior film reporter. 

 

What Was Lion King Praised For?

Still, not all reviews were praising the new movie, some of them weren't really positive ones. Leah Greenblatt (Entertainment Weekly) and Angie Han (Mashable) weren't that much in awe of the movie.
