Tiffany Mitchell, a lifestyle blogger from Nashville was slammed for posting the photoshoot of a horrible motorcycle accident she had suffered from. The blogger with more than 211,000 following on Instagram, said she “would never turn a very important personal story like this into a brand campaign,” BuzzFeed News reports. The Typical Student team learned what happened in reality.
Blogger's Motorcycle Accident
Two weeks ago, Tiffany Mitchell shared the post showing in detail how she got into a motorcycle accident that left "with minor scrapes." Mitchell's photographer friend Lindsey was driving alongside and taking snaps of her. During and after the motorcycle crash, the photographer friend would continue to document everything that was happening. All snaps were later posted on Mitchell's Instagram profile supplied with a long caption. The problem is, images included a bottle of Smartwater, which many users considered as a market placement.
Mitchell called the accident "unreal", and provided the detailed description of a scene where after she was thrown off her bike. Luckily, strangers tended to her and helped load her bike on a trailer. She then mentioned that she had lost a partner to a motorcycle accident three years ago, so she was deeply affected by what had happened. At the end of the post caption, she said she was healing her arm and was feeling "so much better."
Mixed Opinions
Despite going into so much detail, the post didn't seem convincing to some Instagram users. Some comments sounded critical and even cynical. No wonder, as people were shaken by the professional quality of the pictures of the accident.
One user commented:
“This must have been super scary and I’m glad you’re okay, but... if my friend continued to take photos while I was lying semi-unconscious in the road, I’d be furious. I love your photos but it’s a little weird to include those.”
