April 2018, Jake Wilson has been missing in Iowa. This 16-year-old would-be-student disappeared just a few months before Mollie Tibbetts’ disappearance. Wilson was last seen in La Porte City, Iowa, US. It’s just 1 hour away from Brooklyn, Iowa where Mollie Tibbetts was last seen. Still, police believe there’s no connection between their disappearances.


Seeing that, the Typical Student team wants to support Jake’s family. Here is what you should know about the missing teen.


  • Jake Wilson is an autistic boy. His mother says that Jake has a mild intellectual disorder. He functions at the level of a 9-year-old child.
  • Jake is 16 y.o.
  • He was supposed to compete in Iowa’s Special Olympics this summer.
  • The missing boy is 5’6″ tall. He weighs 120-135 pounds.
  • Jake Wilson has hazel eyes and blonde hair.
  • He was last seen April, 7 around 8:30 to 9:00 p.m.
  • That day Jake wasn’t wearing glasses. His clothes were a brown hooded sweatshirt that zips closed, dark pants, and cowboy boots.
  • Police believe that the “main culprit” in boy’s disappearance is the creek.


Before disappearance, Jake said he wanted to walk to Wolf Creek, Des Moines Register reported. It was just two blocks away. He told his parents he would be right back, and they haven’t seen him since, Wolf Creek runs through the La Porte City community, which is near Waterloo.
