January 29, many schools, school districts, and even some colleges around northeastern Louisiana are to close. Needless to say, the reason is the weather. In this post, the Typical Student team is going to provide you with the full list.
National Weather Service
After the call from National Weather Service, Monroe City and Ouachita Parish public schools were the first ones to close. Talking about Ouachita Schools, the Superintendent Don Coker said that it's a hard decision because the weather could go either way. As the same time, Neal Brown, the Ouachita Parish Director of Homeland Security, said that “temperatures in the 60s on Monday mean snow accumulation on the ground is unlikely, but low overnight temperatures paired with wind and precipitation could make overpasses and bridges icy.”
