Saint Louis University is about to make a tech revolution together with Alexa! As told on SLU official website, the school intends to provide 2,300 on-campus student residencies with Alexa Echo Dots before late August. Echo Dots will give answers to most popular student questions on campus life. So, if you're enrolled in SLU the upcoming fall semester, you'll get a nice bonus in your dorm room! What Can Alexa Help You With?

Believe it or not, Alexa Echo Dots aren’t just there to let you know what the weather’s going to be. With access to an SLU Alexa skill, these smart speakers answer 100+ common questions asked by newly-enrolled students. So, whether you need to find a particular building, or learn about the event, timing, or library hours, you’ll get what you need.

This is the first time a higher ed institution is putting gadgets into every student residence. Unlike SLU, other universities would put them in specific living spaces or made them available on students’ request. What’s more, Echos don't carry an extra cost for students. It’s all set with the partnerships or capital funding.

What Are the Benefits of SLU Alexa?

No matter how you look at it, using Echo Dot is all about advantages:

  • 24/7 access to campus info for students, hence less load on the SLU staff.
  • No need to dig through the SLU website or call the helpline to get the answer to your question.
  • No third-party access to your personal data, so you don’t have to be afraid someone will leak it without you knowing.

Drawbacks? None!
