#1 Billionaire Robert F. Smith's pledge to Morehouse College students
This news is still trending and not for nothing. After billionaire Robert F. Smith pledged to pay off the Morehouse College class of 2019's student loans everyone went absolutely crazy. According to the Associated Press estimates, the amount of student debt equals nearly $40 mln!
#2 BTS singer J-Hope donates to schools in Korea
As reported by JustJared and a number of other news outlets J-Hope, 25, has reportedly donated about $83,900 through ChildFund Korea. The money donated by J-Hope has been used to fund scholarships for five years for low-income students at Jeonnam Girls’ Commercial High School. Owing to J-Hope’s donation, 10 students are chosen annually to get a scholarship of 500,000 won ($420) each.
#3 Oprah Winfrey called out by an Instagram user for "not donating enough"
Following Oprah's commencement speech at Colorado College Sunday, one Instagram user commented she "should have paid off [their] student debt" instead of giving students the copy of her latest book. Winfrey replied to the comment by explaining that she "already paid 13 m in scholarships. Have put over 400 men thru @morehouse1867."
