Area 51 Raid Turns To 'Festival'? Student Who Created The Event Says 'It Was Meant To Be Funny'

Still up to having fun in Area 51 this upcoming September? Previously, the Typical Student team shared hilarious Area 51 Raid memes, and now we have another juicy story for our readers. Turns out, the student who created the 'Storm Area 51' event on Facebook, is now trying to back out. Matty Roberts is currently busy urging people not to "raid" one of the most secured military bases in the world! How you doin', Matty?

Area 51 Raid Turns to 'Festival'?

In case, you got intrigued by the top-secret US military base where they reportedly conduct alien experiments, don't kid yourselves! The whole thing began as a joke by a Californian student but rapidly went viral. About 2 million people signed up to go on the Area 51 Raid scheduled for September 26th. At the moment, Roberts is willing to transform the event into a 'festival'.

Matty Roberts Comments Changing His Mind

LADbible reports, Matty commented the whole thing as follows: "It was meant to be funny. I want to do something cool out there, now that we have a bunch of people, but I don't want anybody to get hurt.

"A few people are really serious and I'm kind of worried about that. I've had a couple people DM the page where they're like, 'I'm willing to die for the government. Let's do this.' And I'm just like, 'Oh my God.' They're all like hardcore strength in numbers, that kind of thing, but if there's only like two of those guys out there, I think we'll be OK."

Robert is still adamant to mark the occasion, but instead of taking the US military base by storm he'd rather hold a music event. You know, with art installations and educational material, and other stuff.

So, how do you feel about it?
