Forget Tinder, New Dating App For Students Of Private Schools To Launch In Australia

We at Typical Student team love talking about Tinder and similar dating apps. So, here comes the new app called 'Toffee Dating' launched in Australia and meant specifically for private school alumni. As you could've guessed, the app singles people out based on their parents' wealth.  


What's Toffee Dating App All About?



The app website reads: "Toffee is the world's first dating app for people who were privately educated." The app developers believe that "people from similar backgrounds are more likely to stick together." The "sophisticated matching algorithm" allows connecting the find the right match. As told by LADbible, the app's "algorithm is generated by how much you like certain things such as sport, adventure, the City, the Country and partying." 

Still, there are more peculiar features that make the app stand out from the similar apps: "The app has innovative personal interest and attributes 'sliders' where the user slides a [cursor] to show how much an interest in, for example, sport is important in their potential partner."


The Second Location To Launch Toffee Dating 



Toffee has already launched in the UK and it's going to launch in Australia very soon. One of Toffee Dating creators,  Lydia Davis, commented on their choice of the was the second location to bring the app. Turns out, 35% of students in Australia are educated in private schools compared to 8% of students in the UK.
