Recently, Rice University announced that they are going to cover the cost of tuition. It was made to help the learners low-income and middle-income families to get education. In this post, the Typical Student team will tell you more details.
The Main Information
To put it briefly, within the new policy of the uni, the students whose parents’ income is under $130,000 won’t pay for tuition. Also, the students whose family has the income below $65,000 will get grant aid. It covers school fees, room, and board.
Also, students with family incomes between $130,000 and $200,000 will be eligible to receive scholarships. It should cover at least half of their tuition.
How Much Does It Cost To Study at Rice Uni?
$46,600 - that’s how much undergraduate students pay per year of study at Rice. The institution has an undergraduate student body of nearly 4,000. And it’s just during 2017 and 2017 school year!
As stated by the officials, “the expansion of scholarships is intended to address challenges faced by families with moderate incomes". It reduces student debt. Actually, stats show that fees and tuition had a 3% increase for 2018-2019 academic year. With it, now, the average cost of tuition and fees for a private institution in the US is $35,676.
