From now on, the University of Texas students will have more reasons to attend lectures. Oscar-winning actor Matthew McConaughey is to join the University of Texas as a professor to teach in the university’s Department of Radio-Television-Film, KARK reports. Since 2015, McConaughey has been a visiting instructor at the flagship campus in Austin. In a statement, the university said the appointment recognizes his “outstanding work as a teacher and mentor.” In case you wondered, McConaughey has developed a course curriculum for Script to Screen film production class, which he will continue to teach. According to the UT, the Oscar-winning actor is respected for his “willingness to work with students beyond the classroom,” KARK reports.
In 1993, McConaughey earned a film degree from the school.
